I purchased this hall tree (in black) for my foyer and stored all of our scarves, hats, gloves, and earmuffs in the bench for the winter. The storage space is very roomy and the hinge holds it open while you look for stuff. The hooks are very sturdy and hold our guests' coats. The mirror is at the perfect height for an average person. We did not attach the hall tree to the wall because we simply didn't need to (no children here). It was fairly simple to put together althoughwe were missing ONE screw. There were no extra parts included in the box. The hall tree is VERY sturdy and the construction is genius (at least to me). It came VERY WELL packaged and there wasn't one nick or scratch on the hall tree. NOTE: The black hall tree is distressed on the edges. It is not solid black, but the edges look a little red. I personally liked it and think it adds character. The bench is an odd size and it has been VERY difficult finding a cushion for it. We ended up purchasing 2 seat cushions and placing them side by side. It actually looks really nice.
All in all, this is a beautiful and sturdy hall tree; recommend to everyone!

Looks nice and holds a lot with the 5 hooks and storage bench. The screws for the back of the unit didn't fit and were stripped. So we'll have to get different screws to complete the assembly. Some of them worked but it feels a little unstable right now. I expected more for the money, but would have wasted a lot of time returning it. Hopefully with new screws it will be better.

I love the way this hall tree looks in our entryway. It looks pretty good for what we paid for it and the first day we put it up people who came to our home asked us where they could get one. My husband however was not so pleased in having to put it together. Our initial purchase had a defective piece, but customer service was fantastic in communicating with us ways to get a replacement.

It looks great, very pretty. Very difficult to assemble more than 4 hours. Very wobbly, not as sturdy as I anticipated. Even my small children can not sit on the lid without the back swaying!

Advertised as wood. Turned out to be paper, particle board and finish was painted on. Arrived with many chips, broken pieces and color was not as in picture. I have re-ordered a replacement with hope and expectations that this one will arrive in better condition. People at Heyneedle are easy to deal with and very understanding. They are the best! We'll have to wait and see if I was sent wrong item or if this truly is paper and particle board.

Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
