I purchased this hall tree (in black) for my foyer and stored all of our scarves, hats, gloves, and earmuffs in the bench for the winter. The storage space is very roomy and the hinge holds it open while you look for stuff. The hooks are very sturdy and hold our guests' coats. The mirror is at the perfect height for an average person. We did not attach the hall tree to the wall because we simply didn't need to (no children here). It was fairly simple to put together althoughwe were missing ONE screw. There were no extra parts included in the box. The hall tree is VERY sturdy and the construction is genius (at least to me). It came VERY WELL packaged and there wasn't one nick or scratch on the hall tree. NOTE: The black hall tree is distressed on the edges. It is not solid black, but the edges look a little red. I personally liked it and think it adds character. The bench is an odd size and it has been VERY difficult finding a cushion for it. We ended up purchasing 2 seat cushions and placing them side by side. It actually looks really nice.
All in all, this is a beautiful and sturdy hall tree; recommend to everyone!

Looks nice and holds a lot with the 5 hooks and storage bench. The screws for the back of the unit didn't fit and were stripped. So we'll have to get different screws to complete the assembly. Some of them worked but it feels a little unstable right now. I expected more for the money, but would have wasted a lot of time returning it. Hopefully with new screws it will be better.

The Richland hall tree looks just as pictured; it is not heavy wood but that's what I like. It can perfectly "meld" with traditional to modern styles. I use it in an open concept kitchen-to-living room and it's a litle bit of practical furniture with my funky stamp - perfect!

We ordered this piece for a quick fix to our entry-way to help us with our coat and back-pack mess. I run a family daycare business and was in desperate need to help eliminate some of the after school chaos. My husband took this out of the box and right away he realized he was missing pieces. The pre-marked holes were not matching up with the coordinating pieces and was also missing the pieces to help assemble them. I told my husband that I would send this back and he was able to fix it and make it look appealing. I suppose you get what you pay for.

The assembly for this item was far worse than any other assembly-required piece of furniture I have ever assembled. Some of the pieces were actually numbered incorrectly, which meant we had to do a lot of disassembly and reassembly to get it corrected. Also, there were not enough of some of the screws included. The worst part is that the method for attaching the hinged lid is not only extremely, almost impossibly difficult, but even if you do successfully attach it as described in the instuctions it will probably not hold unless you improvise some alternate/additional screw placement and adjust the piston location. Prepare to be frustrated and get creative if you purchase this and try to assemble it.

Good price after discounts. Directions were simple to follow, but had a misprint; lower left and right sides were labeled wrong showing #2 & #3 panels on opposite sides, causing disassembly in order to have the pilot holes line up properly for top half assembly. Seating bench had hinges attached to 1" panel at back was upside down so the dowel holes faced up instead of down; had to remove hinges and flip 1" board over in order for the seat to lift up properly. This made the arm connecting to seat bench and right side lower panel instead of left side panel as in directions. Inconvenient when assembling as directions are tricky enough at times.

I was disappointed at how cheaply made this piece of furniture was. Furthermore, it required 2 people to assemble it and a drill because several of the "pre-drilled" holes were not actually "pre-drilled"
