This is the most helpful piece of furniture I have bought in a long while! I have 3 kids and they have backpacks,jackets and coats for every occasion. This hall rack has made organizing their "stuff" easy and attractive. It was very easy to put together, I did it by myself! I recommend using wood glue on every joint that is screwed together. I believe that it will help the piece maintain its sturdiness. I've received several compliments on how attractive the hall rack looks, even when its full of coats!

The quality of this product was meaningfully below what I expected, especially given the other reviews. The "causal planked panels" are thin, cheap-looking plywood veneers, and mine had a very noticeable flaw right in the front. The color is darker than the nice warm tone that shows on my computer screen. My husband, who is quite handy, couldn't figure out how to put the hinges on the bench top. I kept this item to avoid the hassle of a return, but only because it sits in my mudroom and is mostly covered with coats.

Adds a great look in the entry way. Helps clear up the clutter that accumulates there. I put it together by myself except for the lid. There was one screw that wouldn't go into a pre drilled hole because it wasn't lined up correctly at the factory. I had to create a starter hole.

    I got a good unit the second time around.The people at customer service said they would have it opened up and checked before it got shipped. I believe they did that because it was much better than the first one.

    All in all, I'm happy with my purchase. I love the color of the wood and it's pretty true to the picture. I was able to put this together for the most part myself so the directions are clear. I'm not very happy with how sturdy it is as the back panel is not connected to the bench very well. I don't feel like you can lean on the back panel at all and it's wobbly. I may have to come up with a way to add additional back support.
