This thing is a piece of junk. It is particle board with black, plastic laminate on it- like a kitchen counter. It really doesn't look like painted wood, if that's what you're going for. [...] It is hard to tell from the picture, but there is actually only a strip of wood behind the cubbies that is used to hang the rack. So, you see your wall instead of black "wood." This adds to the cheap look of the item. The hooks are cheap, and I can't imagine it will be too long before the silver paint on them wears off. [...]

This is great for hanging jackets and especially for guests! The "cubbies" we use for hats and gloves and the top shelf is used to display pictures and centerpeices...it looks great in our entryway. So glad we bought this!
